Conferences
The AASM is the host organisation for the Asia Pacific Social Marketing Conference (APSMC), which runs on a bi-yearly basis, featuring cutting-edge practitioner activity, latest research, and international guest speakers sharing global experiences with the Asia Pacific region, and the Asia Pacific’s experiences with the world.
Following the successful 2025 International Social Marketing Conference in Canberra, the conference has been rebranded as the Asia Pacific Social Marketing Conference from 2026 onwards, better reflecting its regional focus and the growing social marketing community across the Asia Pacific region.
The conference has been running in various forms since 2004 when it was called the Nonprofit Marketing Conference. The conference was relabelled as the Australasian Nonprofit and Social Marketing Conference in 2005 and the International Nonprofit and Social Marketing Conference (INSM) in 2008. When the AASM was formed at the 2009 INSM conference, the conference came under the auspices of the AASM who took on the role of host.
In 2012 the conference was rebranded as the International Social Marketing Conference (ISMC), a name that was used until 2025. The transition to the Asia Pacific Social Marketing Conference represents an exciting evolution that positions the conference to better serve the vibrant and growing social marketing community across our region.
