Dr Rachel Hay

Rachel Hay is an Associate Professor of Marketing at James Cook University (JCU) in Townsville, Australia. With a strong background in social marketing and behaviour change, Rachel’s work focuses on technology adoption, social marketing, and environmental protection interventions. Her PhD research explored “Technology Adoption by Women in Agriculture,” and she continues to investigate trans-disciplinary approaches to sustained behaviour change. Rachel’s dedication to improving technology adoption and sustainability in agriculture is evident through her extensive research, leadership roles, and community involvement. She has been involved in numerous projects aimed at enhancing digital connectivity and promoting sustainable practices in rural and regional areas. Rachel’s work has been recognized with several awards, including the Award for Research Impact and the Award for Excellence in Community Engagement at JCU. Her passion for social marketing and behaviour change drives her commitment to making a positive impact on communities and the environment.
