International Social Marketing Association AGM 2024

AASM members are invited to learn about the work of iSMA and its affiliated associations at this year’s AGM. The iSMA AGM will focus on the many developments in promoting and spreading good practice in Social Marketing that have been delivered over the last year.

The AGM will also set out iSMA’s plans for raising awareness about good practice in Social marketing and supporting the work of the many social marketing associations, practitioners, associations, and networks around the world.

You will be able to view the AGM and keynote presenter, Dr Nathaly Aya Pastrana, MSc, PhD from 8 May at a time and date of your choosing. You will also be able to submit written questions for a month after the AGM posting date. All questions received will be responded to within two days. The AGM recording is 40 minutes in duration.

Presentation title:  Current Perspectives on social marketing in Latin America, Critical Reflections and a Way Forward

Complex global contexts call now more than ever for the exchange of knowledge and experiences between the World’s regions. Taking Latin America as a reference, this presentation will provide insights into current conceptualizations and applications of social marketing in this region, which sometimes differ from global understandings of the discipline. Subsequently, critical reflections on mainstreaming Latin American worldviews and practices into social marketing will be discussed. The presentation will conclude with an invitation to expand and question how behavior and social change are fostered to move towards more inclusive and equitable societies.
